Having fun and learning is always a very good option. Although children play and learn at school , at home we must continue with that learning and fun. If we do it with them, they will feel more fulfilled. Playing is a good way to learn. That’s why we bring you 15 educational toys and games for your children to do at home manually and, in addition to having fun, will help you with your learning and development. Take note!
A mythical game that you can do, simply, using magnets and metal clips and with which your children will be entertained and will learn to count.
To do this you will need: felt of different colors, a cord (which will be the fishing thread), a club for each player, metal clips, button magnets, a fish shaped template, scissors and embroidery thread and needle.
Draw the fish on the felt and cut them out. In order to prevent children from being in direct contact with the magnet, make a small felt bag with the shape and insert it inside. Then attach it to the stick with the thread and you will have the fishing rod and the bait.
To finish, hook a clip to each fish and … play!
The game of forms
A very entertaining and inexpensive way to learn. To make the book you will need: white felt, two rings to join it all, a die cutter, small pieces of felt of different colors, velcro and scissors. On each page draw a different game and make shapes for the children to stick. Here is an example of this.
Learning the colors
A game of the most fun and easy to do. A chromatic circle ideal for small designers who want to know absolutely everything about colors. To do this you will need: a cardboard circle, colored markers and clothespins.
Cut out the circle and divide it into as many sections as you want colors to have. Color each section with a different color. Now do the same with each pin of the clothes and let dry everything and start the game.
Game to develop subitising
The subitising is the technique that allows you to make it four four without counting points. Children need to develop it and nothing better than an entertaining game to get it. This game will help you get it. Paint each hole in an egg cup with a different color paint and take a few pompoms of the colors with which you have painted the egg cup. Now put a die inside, close the lid and shake hard. When opened, the die will be in a hole with a specific color and a specific number. The child will only have to take the number of pompoms that have come out of the color that has come out and put it in its corresponding place.
Learn to screw
Giving a new life to the milk bottle stoppers is possible. Have your child learn to screw by simply gluing them to a piece of wood and tying each cap to its corresponding opening by means of a thread.
Pulling out the tongue like a chameleon
To make a fun chameleon head that sticks out your tongue you will only need some green eva gum and a matasuegras (if it is pink, much better). Cut two heads of chameleon with the help of a template and glue them with fast glue. Leave a small hole in the mouth where you can pull the main part of the matasuegras. The whistle will be hidden behind the head and every time they blow, it will draw a great tongue!
A new way to play ball
Choose a few white balls and ping pong and a cardboard tube for each letter of the alphabet. Write a letter of the alphabet in each ball and then do the same with each tube. Start playing with your child: you will say a letter and he will have to listen to it (to practice the phoneme) and put the ball in its corresponding tube.
Learn to concentrate
To keep the little one concentrated for a while, make a cube with a piece of paper, attach a string underneath and a small ball that has some weight at the other end. The game will consist of putting the ball into the cube.
A game to learn math
The most simple and didactic in the world. Draw a number from 1 to 20 on each cap and choose three: one for the addition symbol, one for subtraction and one for equal. Now start making combinations and learn for a long time. You can also make competitions between friends to see who gets more.
Another idea for not throwing the bottle caps. Choose 20 caps and 20 cardboard circles and match them. You can make pairs by colors, by words, by numbers, … Cut the circles and pull them under the covers. You will not need to use glue because they will stand alone if you cut them to the right size. Start by turning the lids and putting them back down in order to achieve combinations.
Learning to count
A simple and fun way to learn both numbers and colors.
To make this game you will need: Empty bottles, small pompoms and permanent markers. Draw a number and a color in each bottle and play with your child to target the number of pompoms you put and the color you have chosen.
Feed the monster!
A little monster of cookies has come to your house to eat all you see. To make this game you will need: a cardboard box, a monster template of cookies and small cardboard circles to draw the cookies.
Glue the cookie monster’s head to the box and make a large slot in the mouth (for cookies to pass). Now paint the circles in the shape of a cookie and start throwing them. How many will be eaten?
Grab a cardboard box and draw a large opening on the front that will be the mouth of the rabbit. Draw the face and ears and start throwing balls. How many will be eaten?
Very homemade bowls
Did you think Actimel’s empty boats were just throwing away? You can make a fun bowling game with them. Keep seven empty bottles and grab seven ping pong balls. Paint them all the same color and stick the ball to the bottle. Grab a little bigger ball and … play!
